Becomes First Rental Marketplace to Offer Damage Waivers
LOS
ANGELES, CA– Starting
Thursday April 6, users of Rentus.com, the Airbnb or Uber for your
'stuff,' will have the opportunity to purchase comprehensive
Damage Waiver coverage on the items they rent. Rentus.com is an online marketplace where users
can list items to be rented, or rent items to use. It is the first rental marketplace to offer coverage for items
that are rented through its platform.
“Building trust
in a peer to peer marketplace is key to facilitate transactions between two
people.
We believe in going the extra mile to provide a safe and secured place
for successful and happy transactions to happen, said CEO Elias Chavando. “We verify the identity of the people transacting
in our platform, retain a security deposit from the renters and the now available
Damage Waiver coverage provides extra peace of mind to our users.”
When listing an
item on Rentus.com, owners set the fair market value of an item. A credit card
authorization is placed on the renters’ credit for the stated market value and
serves as a protection in case of theft or damage. Renters can now
purchase damage waiver to cover repairs and incidentals. The Damage Waiver
covers accidental damage to the items rented from Rentus.com.
“With small
deductibles and coverage of up to $7500 per item, owners will feel even more
comfortable renting out their assets knowing that in case of damage, there is
coverage that will pay for repairs or replacement,” said Chavando.
Rentus.com is the only online and mobile marketplace where
people can list items for rent to others. They have partnered with several
rental businesses providing them with an inventory of thousands of items ready
to be rented out. It is available online at Rentus.com and the Rentus.com mobile app is available for iOS on the iTunes store.
